Accessibility statement
Anyone looking into a gate in Lancaster should be able to read this site, move around it and send the form, with a mouse, a keyboard, a magnifier or a screen reader. This page sets out the goal, how it is tested and what to do if something blocks you.
The goal
Every page is meant to conform to WCAG 2.1, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, at Level AA. For this site that means enough contrast to read the text, a clear outline showing where you are as you tab through links, a written label on each form field, and layouts that hold together when the text is enlarged.
How it is tested
Whenever the site is about to change, axe, an automated checker, runs across every page in a phone sized window and a desktop sized window before the change is published. Its latest pass flagged no serious or critical problems.
Automated tools miss things a person would notice. A manual pass is planned, working through the site by keyboard only and then with a screen reader. That manual review has not happened yet.
Reporting a problem
Use the contact form with A page or the form is hard to use selected. Let us know the page and what stopped you. If you are comfortable sharing it, the device and any assistive technology you were using help us find the fault faster.
Reply and fix times
A reply reaches you within 2 business days. Our target is a fix within 45 days. If the work runs longer, we will say what is holding it up and when it should be done.
This statement covers the website only. Gates Lancaster CA works as a referral service; paperwork and tools on the contractor's side are the contractor's own.
